Arizona Trip Part 3

Arizona Trip Part 3

While we were in Arizona, we spent two days in the area around Sedona. On the first day, we hiked in two different locations, each about 1.5-2 miles. That worked out well because Kat was able to rest in between the hikes.

Our first hike was around Chimney Rock.

There were a lot of great views and Kat loved scrambling up the rocks. She likes any opportunity to be off-road.

After our morning hike at Chimney Rock, we stopped at a deli and grabbed a sandwich and salad. Then we headed to Tuzigoot National Monument. We toured around the ruins at Tuzigoot and then ate our lunches at a picnic table in the shade.

After Tuzigoot, we headed to our next hiking trail near Cathedral Rock. We took a family selfie (the top photo of this post). Taking a family selfie involved a lot of bloopers.

After our second hike, we headed to Montezuma Castle National Monument. It’s amazing that these old structures are still in tact.

We enjoyed Sedona so much that we returned on another day of our trip. This time we did a three mile hike in the Clarkdale, AZ area in a national forest. Kat enjoyed being our lead dog.

The views around Sedona are really incredible and there are so many hikes in the area that were dog friendly. We really enjoyed our time there!
