Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving Recap

We went to Kerrville for Thanksgiving to spend time with David’s family. Gus couldn’t wait to get to Grandma’s house and kept peeking out the window to see if we were there yet.

Once we arrived, Gus was super happy to discover that there was a lot of food and cooking. He loves to “help” in the kitchen and he immediately jumped into duty on Thanksgiving. He cleaned up a cube of sweet potato that David’s mom dropped and he helped everyone eat baby carrots and Ritz crackers. Gus never wants anyone to eat alone.

Unfortunately, David’s sister was not able to make it to Thanksgiving, but Kat stepped in to make sure that there was still a dog on the couch where her canine cousins like to nap.

We enjoyed eating and napping on Thanksgiving.

On Friday morning, Gus woke us up bright and early by puking up a huge amount of rope toy all over the bed, resulting in me having to wash everything. We had no idea he had eaten the rope toy, but David recognized it from home, so I guess it had been in his stomach for a bit. He’s on his way to not getting invited to grandma’s house because last year he had a seizure on the day after Thanksgiving and I had to wash all the bedding then too! After that rude awakening, we got up and went for a run/walk. Kat was so excited and did a great job covering almost four miles! Even Gus kept up for a change. It helped that the weather was cool and misty, perfect for running in a fur coat.

After some more food and family time, we headed home Friday night. We had to get home and get to decorating for Christmas! It’s coming up quickly. There’s no question that Kat is on the nice list, but I wonder whether Gus is on the naughty list.
