Disney World Part 3

Disney World Part 3

On our second day at Disney, we went to Magic Kingdom. I started the day by getting up for a run and David decided to join me. We ran around the Contemporary and then ran as far as we could towards Magic Kingdom before heading back. It wasn’t that early, but still dark, so Space Mountain was all lit up.

I thought my hair looked pretty good when we left the hotel room, so naturally the first thing we did was ride Splash Mountain. For social distancing purposes, Disney put us in the front of the raft and another guest in the very back, leaving the other seats open. When we went down the drop, we both got splashed directly in the face. My Minnie ears came in handy to deal with my wet hair!

The castle was repainted since the last time we were at Disney. I like the new color scheme.

We had lunch at Pecos Bills Tall Tale Cafe. For a snack we got a pumpkin spice Mickey Waffle Sundae.

I thought the pumpkin spice waffles were pretty good. We also got a cinnamon roll from Gaston’s tavern.

For dinner, we went to the Grand Floridian Cafe. I’d never been over to that resort, despite it being my dream to stay there since I was 16. Too bad it’s so pricey. David took a picture of me pretending to be a guest of the resort.

The food at the Grand Floridian Cafe was pretty good. I had the buttermilk fried chicken with mashed potatoes. However, the most impressive thing in the restaurant was this chocolate sculpture. Can you believe it’s made of chocolate?

Before we left the Grand Floridian, we stopped by the Gasparilla Grill and picked up one of their fall cupcakes. This is a spice cake with apple pie filling. It was very pretty. I don’t really like apple pie, but the cake was good. David liked the whole thing.

On the way back to the Contemporary, we stopped by the Polynesian resort. We liked the vibe of the resort. Maybe we will stay there next time.

Next post - EPCOT!
