Alaska, but first, Seattle

Alaska, but first, Seattle

This summer we went on an Alaskan cruise. I’ll post more about the cruise in another post as this post is about our pre-cruise segment of the trip.

The cruise left out of Seattle. It’s been nine years since we moved from Seattle and David’s first time back. (I’ve been there one other time for a work trip.) Quite a lot has changed. We drove by our old house and it kind of looks like a dump now. Did it look like that when we lived there? I hope not! Other parts of Seattle were nice and we reminisced about how nice it was for Steve and Kat there. Not nearly as hot as Texas!

We went on our trip with another couple, Bobby and Stacey, and their son. Bobby had several bucket list things for Seattle, many around Boeing. That was a-ok for David and me, but I think it was boring for Stacey and Robby! We went to the Museum of Flight, still a great aviation museum. They had a special exhibit for Apollo 11.

The exhibit was very interesting. We also went on the Boeing Factory Tour. It was fun to see where I used to work. It mostly looked the same. No photos of the tour, but David and Bobby were excited to see the DreamLifter take off.

Of course we had to go to Pike Place market and see the fish being thrown around. We stopped at the first Starbucks so I could get a chai tea latte. There was a huge line!

Finally we had to find a dog store so I could get Kat and Gus some treats. While at the dog store, David saw this sign and bought it for me. I have it hanging in my office at work now. I think all of the associates think it’s funny, not sure about the partners!
