Snow tubing and mountain coasting

After we got back from snowshoeing one day, I went with Kasyn, Lakyn, Kari, Mom, and Dad to ride the mountain coaster at the ski resort. It was expensive but so fun that we rode twice! 

First Kasyn and I rode together. The coaster was so fast! 

We gave Mom a hard time because she used the brake a lot and really slowed Dad down on the first trip down the mountain. 

When we rode again, Dad and Kasyn went first and Mom went last so she wouldn’t slow anyone down. This time Lakyn rode with me. She wanted to go “super fast.” 

I think we accomplished that goal! It snowed on us while we walked back to our rental house. I told Lakyn to eat some snow and she said that would be gross, but I think this picture shows she might have snuck in a few flakes!

On our last day in Steamboat, David and I took the dogs walking around the town while everyone else went snowmobiling. We joined them for snow tubing in the afternoon. It was fun but also terrifying. Lakyn and I tubed together most of the time and we had contests to see who could scream the loudest while going down the mountain. On one run, Dad lost his hat, so David and Kasyn had to take a few more runs to see who could grab the hat. David won and got a free hot chocolate. I guess since he and Kasyn strategized together on the best way to get the hat, he decided to give her the hot chocolate.

We had a great time in Steamboat. I think Gus especially liked it because he was able to con everyone into sharing food with him! 

He knows how to work it for sure!
