Anniversary Hike
Yesterday was our 13th anniversary. To celebrate, we decided to take the pups on a hike. We went to McKinney Falls State Park and walked about three miles.
Kat and Gus had a good time. Kat loves to go for off-road walks and Gus doesn’t mind being along for the ride, as long as it’s not hot.
We were impressed with the huge area of solid rock near the creek. Luckily it was nice and smooth for puppy paws. I had David and Gus pose on a rock formation. It was only about four feet up, but Gus is a big chicken and would not walk near the edge. David had to pick him up.
Once we got to the lower falls, we decided to cross since there was a path to cross without getting our feet wet. Apparently Kat didn’t get the message, because she ended up in the water, up to her head. I had to lift her out because she couldn’t get any traction on the rocks. I guess that kept her cool for the walk back to the car!
Now that we’ve checked out the park, we will have to go back and explore some of the other trails. We are going to try to make a 2020 resolution to take the pups on more adventures. Let’s see if we are successful at keeping that resolution!
