Research Assignment: Charlottesville Court Square

We visited the historic Charlottesville Court Square on Thursday. At the center of the square is the courthouse, which has been in use for over 200 years and was used by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe.

The courthouse was originally built in 1803 and has been expanded over the years.

There is a park surrounding the courthouse with some Civil War monuments. There are some cannons. I looked the cannons over really well in case I need to use them in the war on Squirrel Terror.

There is also a big statue of Stonewall Jackson on his horse. Mom had a hard time getting us and the statue in the picture. Luckily Kat doesn't go as nuts for horse statues as she does for real horses.

(Also, there was a squirrel in the tree behind Mom, if you can't tell from Kat's face.)

Well, that's Charlottesville Court Square. Thanks for joining us on the tour!
